Protect those engine cases on your KLX300R with our thick plastic case guards!
Made of a very durable and thick, but lightweight plastic, these guards will protect your engine cases from boot wear, rocks, sticks, branches and all the trail junk you can throw at them!
These case guards are especially helpful in typically preventing a brake pedal tip or rock or gear shift lever from penetrating your engine case. That is no fun, get on some protection!
All the guards are held on by very simple offset washers that act as retaining tabs under some of the case bolts. For the large covers - 3 tabs on each side are used, and for the oil filter cover guard 2 tabs are used.
Each kit includes
Left ignition side case guard
Right clutch side case guard
Oil filter cover guard
8x retaining tabs
Fits all models of the Kawasaki KLX300 series (R, DS, & SM) from 2021 to Present.
Sold as a matched pair (left & right side covers) in Black.
NOTES: For KLX300 DS & SM owners - for a clean install with minimal fuss (except for frame loop note below) go ahead and remove the 1 small bolt behind the frame that holds the rear brake light switch. Also remove the 2 bolts that hold the rear brake master cylinder to the frame. Doing these steps will allow for an easy install of the right-side case guard with exception to the frame loop/water pump area mentioned further below.
ALL Models - After install and everything is reassembled - please check your rear brake pedal free play and adjust as necessary to ensure there is still some available. The case guard does take up a few millimeters of the clearance the brake pedal has when returning to the full up position, where it typically comes close or touches the underside of the right engine case.
On some bikes, sometimes even new ones from the showroom - the frame loop that comes out directly below the water pump can be just a touch too close to fit the right-side cover on - due to a previous impact or frame manufacturing tolerances. In this case, you can either notch the cover in that area to allow easier install/removal or use a sturdy breaker bar (not against the engine cases!) to bend the loop downwards very slightly.
